MassGOP Statement On Independence Day

July 4, 2010

BOSTON - The Massachusetts Republican Party today released a statement from Chairman Jennifer Nassour in celebration of Independence Day:

“On this Fourth of July, the Massachusetts Republican Party celebrates the contributions of ordinary Americans making extraordinary sacrifices to advance the cause of freedom. As President Ronald Reagan once said, ‘freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.’ Today we remember our troops, and also those at home dedicated to preserving out liberties. As our GOP candidates march in Fourth of July parades across Massachusetts, it is our hope that our state can once again be a national leader in prosperity and opportunity for all families and individuals. I’m proud to join my fellow Republicans across the Commonwealth in celebrating our independence.”

Blessing of the Fleet

June 27, 2010

Provincetown honors its Portuguese ancestry with the annual “Blessing of the Fleet” ceremony. Tradition is before a country’s ships departed on an often dangerous journey, the Bishop blessed the vessels and crew. Beginning with a mass at St. Peter’s Church, followed by a festive procession to MacMillan Wharf ceremony, our fisherman are blessed today. May they have a safe and healthy season and to their brothers and sisters in the Gulf of Mexico, may your lives become brighter and your hopes grow stronger for a better tomorrow, our thoughts are with you!

So You Think You Can Lead…

June 23, 2010

President Obama has been dancing. The ”Yes we Can-Can”seems to be his preferred style. After failing to score with the “American Jive” and NappyTabs’ “Hip Hop Jam-it-Down”,  he will have to dance to survive come 2012.

Here is my top ten Obama “misses” in just 6 weeks:

1.   It’s Day 64 in the Gulf of Mexico and the WH still has no clue on how to turn off the “oil cam”.  Maybe another round of golf and Cap and Trade will create the necessary distraction.

2. The hand-selected General McChrystal has resigned.  Bad judgment not dishonesty was his downfall but then again he voted for Obama in the first place!

3. WH Budget Director Orzag quit before his fiscal acumen is fully exposed.  Why waste time on a new budget?

4.  Immigration reform-Az.Sen Jon Kyl explains the WH strategy for securing the border and is called a liar. Wait, that is the WH strategy.

5. DRILL, BABY, DRILL…AGAIN.  A judge ends the WH moratorium on off shore drilling and the WH says it’s back on, more legal delays and more job losses for Americans.

6.  Corporate Discontent.  Business leaders have recently accused the WH of creating “a hostile environment for investment and job creation” according to today’s Washington Post.

7. Health Care “Campaigning” continues while state insurers raise premiums in anticipation of mandatory coverage.

8.  Bailing out the States-Another stimulus to pay for the previous one.

9. Bush tax cuts set to expire and the thought of extending anything with the Bush name attached is poison to the Dems.

10.  Israel is the enemy.  A country as small as NJ caves to UN pressure while the world including the WH weaken its ability to protect itself.

Our country needs a leader but instead finds a law professor and community organizer. While Obama waltzes through the Presidency, our citizens are in the wings longing for a leader, one that will rise up and dance, not for his life but ours.

To Honor our Fathers

June 20, 2010

For all of our fathers, let us celebrate your lives:

For the father who sings a lullaby to his daughter or reads a bedtime story just before sleep…
For the father who sneaks into the back row of his son’s acting debut….
To the fathers who spend sleepless nights waiting for their teenage daughter to return from the prom or sits next to the hospital bed of a small child….
For the father who buys the first footlong for his six year old or who raises his young girl high on his shoulders to see the 4th of July parade…
Here’s to the inventors, the thinkers, the entrenpreneurs of years past that have made their dreams come true,

to the farmers who quietly rake the land,

the builders who climb high,

and the brave men who fight fires and save lives…
to the law enforcement fathers that come home after a long shift and tuck their children in….
to our military fathers who fight in faraway lands longing to hold their firstborn…

and lastly to our Founders may we never forget your dream and vision for our great country, Happy Father’s Day!

Bailing out HAMAS

June 14, 2010

President Obama is asking for another fifty billion from American taxpayers to bailout the state and local public sector unions. He still hasn’t spent the last porkulus.
At the same time, American taxpayers are aiding starving Palestinians in the Gaza strip to the tune of 400 million.
The Democrat strategy: Throw money at the problem, that will fix it! As if the money actually will be used to stop the layoffs of police, firefighters and teachers.
(See “State of NJ under Corzine”)
As if it will really go to buy food for the Palestian children.
(Also see “Yasser Arafat’s overseas bank accounts”)
By the way isn’t it still a crime to fund terrorists?

What's the 411?

June 6, 2010

The Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor and Statistics released its monthly jobs report showing that the economy added 431,000 jobs in May of which 411,000 were temporary Census jobs.  At the end of the year these same people will stand in line for 99 weeks of unemployment benefits.

So the Obama porkulus provided less dollars for private paychecks and more dollars for government-provided benefits. Now a record high number of people are living off Uncle Sam…. Shocker!  And with a measly 9.7% unemployment rate and a loss of 7.2 million jobs, Obama keeps chugging along on his permanent campaign trail, promising a stronger economy.

The euro (and Europe) is falling apart, stocks are tumbling and people are losing confidence in a recovery.

In the beginning of 2011 the Bush tax cuts will expire. The federal home buying tax credit has already expired and led to a plunge in May sales despite a recent drop in mortgage rates.  Capital gains tax will increase to 20% from 15% continuing to dampen future growth.

This is unfortunately very sad.  Our next generation will remain shackled to Big Government exchanging creativity and entrepreneurship for safety and mediocrity.

"I'll take some salsa with that Turkey Flotilla..please."

June 2, 2010

While news reports flood in with biased views of the Israeli flotilla incident yet another “sailing provocation” is on the way to Gaza.  Whatever your opinion is what is clear to me is this was not “peace-loving” non-violent  humanitarians but ”Hamas-loving” chanters loudly singing “Khaibar, the army of Mohammad will return.” If this was about aid to the Palestinians than why not take the offer of an escort to unload and inspect the ship.

The organizer—–Free Gaza Movement, you know- Obama pals -Terrorist Bill Ayers, Bernadette Dohrn and Jodie Evans from the radical Code Pink and recent written support from John Kerry,  according to an article by Aaron Klein from WorldNetDaily. Full article :  http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=160661

The financial backer—-Non-profit Turkish relief organization IHH, tied to the Union of Good which was banned in Israel in 2008. Terrorists organizations linked with Al-Qaeda in the 90′s according to the Danish Institute for International Studies in 2006.

Full report:   www.diis.dk/graphics/Publications/WP2006/DIIS%20WP%202006-7.web.pdf

According to the study, in 1997 the Turkish government began investigating IHH following information that senior activists were purchasing automatic weapons from extremist Islamic organizations.  Their offices were raided, activists were arrested and weapons were found including a jihadist flag.

Recently the U.S. voted with the United Nation’s Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review’s conference resolution against Israel. This is no surprise given Obama’s leanings. And now we need to keep an eye on Turkey.

Today,  Prime Minister Binjamin Netanyahu held a press conference where he took on the media in the information war.  He did NOT apologize for defending Israel but yet our own MA US Rep. Barney Frank states he is embarrassed as a Jew.

Yes the same “Apologize for America” liberal tour also sings the same tune for Israel.

Sestak, "We forgot to tell you…Don't tell anyone!"

May 27, 2010

“Shortly” we will find out how transparent the Obama Administration will be on the Sestak job offer. Maybe they will use the “Top Kill” method to close the hole.  The Chicago way has become the strategy of keeping the Democratic agenda on track.  First the deals with the passage of Obamacare and now after three months we may find out that a dead fish might be found in Sestak’s bedroom.  Why couldn’t he be more like Blago?

Is it me or isn’t this all against some law somewhere in the U.S. Codes? I am not naive. I know this is Beltway politics at its’ best. After all,  the culprit could be the best politician ever?

Where is that hopey changey stuff?

Maybe “ Bela Lugosi ” Pelosi should start “draining the swamp”

There is more transparency Gulf of Mexico right now!

Specteracular Randslide

May 19, 2010

It is clear that the fundamental transformation of America will not take place without a fight or without tea for that matter.

Whether it is by forced resignations, self retirements, pressure to campaign from the right by running away from a first term President or by the Administration throwing fellow Dems under the Rev. Wright bus, either way the people’s voices will be heard.

Tim Burns lost PA-12 and the winner, a former asst to “porkman” Murtha, will need to keep his anti-Obama campaign promises or just continue to bring earmarks back home.

In six months the people will not fight with the “alleged” pitchforks but with their votes.  They will not fund the established parties. They will be contributors to identified candidates of their choice.

The liberals thought the tea party influence was momentary, an angry mob driven by talk radio to the polls in MA, VA and NJ. We still have more work to do. We have to carry on and we must win in November. In order to win, we must continue to be vigilant and to be serious about the candidates we select and support. And we must not get distracted and frustrated.

We will not have a perfect dog in each race but we must get the dog to the starting gate and we must buy a ticket at the window!
