Hello. I learned about you from the Lesbian Conservative website. I love Jeanne's site and I hope that she gets a great following who will comment on her postings. It is fantastic to find another conservative gay person. Where are the conservative gay guts though. I know that we're out there, somewhere ! I too am gay, 59 yrs. old and conservative. Unlike you, I am not married but have been with my partner for 40 yrs. The current state of our country's government really has me worried. I try to support my fellow conservatives when I can in our combined effort to get our country back on a reasonable course. Thanks for sharing your blog and I'll be stopping by from time to time to read and comment.

I am a pretty liberal gal, and I re-posted the above list of what are assumed to be ALL Republicans' agendas, political and otherwise. And the exact same thing happened to me but from my Republican friends. I am probably more offended by Rick Santorum and Rush Limbaugh than any other Republican in the media right now, but I was trying to see if that was even close to a good assessment of what my Republican friends think. And all hell broke loose... so I came to the same conclusion as you. I believe in what I believe in, and I'm not going to keep hiding the fact that I'm a liberal and that I vote mostly for Democrats (even in Texas) just because everyone wants to fight about it. I was actually interested in hearing some of my friends' points of view, but it is so heated right now.... You can't have a calm conversation with ANYONE. So, while I know I may be out of my element on this blog, I genuinely wanted to see what some Republicans, who I wouldn't lose friendships with, thought about that post. Anyway, thank you for the insight. I think we all need to calm down a bit and try to work together, but it's hard to get a good dialogue going when everyone starts acting psychotic and it turns each debate into a history of every stupid thing that every Republican or Democrat has ever done or said. What I care about is what they're saying now (because, honestly, some of it scares the living crap out of me), and I really did want to know what my friends thought, too. Oh well. Maybe we'll all be reunited in 2016? Yeah... Probably not. Sigh.

We are 5 weeks away from paying people for two whole years not to work! And Obozo wants to advertise these great job growth numbers. He did admit that he realizes that most of these jobs are temporary, but he ignored the reason why the unemployment percentage dropped. It wasn't job growth. People are giving up again. Isn't this the same administration that said the percentage went up last month because people had jumped back into the job search? Who can believe a word they say anymore?

I would love to watch a sanctuary city like San Francisco handle the influx of Arizona's 640,000 illegals. Gavin Newsom can put them up at his place - what an idiot!

P - you are so right! As painful as this chapter in our history will be, there is a certain gratitude for Barack Obama. Conservatives have been angry for years, but not enough to get our rears off the couch and do something about it. Now the silent majority is speaking and the sleeping giant is awakened. People are reading their Constitutions and paying attention to their politics. So yes, we are thankful.
