Property Taxes in Massachusetts are on the table!
Democrats seized the day when there was suprisingly low turnout at a Boston hearing to reduce the sales and liquor taxes.
Where were the Tea Party patriots? Almost no opposition at the state Revenue’s committee hearing. This means no proposals on the ballot in November to cut state sales taxes.
Now the Democratically controlled state legislature wants to permit cities to raise property taxes. Never mind that the citizens voted for Prop 2 1/2 that limits the amount property owners can be taxed without voting. But there they go again changing the rules to fit the agenda.
Need more money? Go to the people.
The Citizens for Limited Taxation estimate that this would add $550 million in property taxes.
Welcome to Taxachusetts!
We need change soon if we are to take advantage of Deval Patrick’s low approval ratings. We need a strong candidate that will have the courage to reign in budget costs even if it means cutting services or else we will be the next U.S. state like California and New York to be holding our hand out!
