Paul Revere's Ride

April 18, 2010

235 years ago today Paul Revere rode through the dead of night to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that the British were coming.  A silversmith by trade and an energetic inspiration of more than 50 fellow artisans(imagine how many Facebook friends he would have had!)he was the ultimate tea party activist of the time.  He excelled at social networking(imagine the tweets along the way)and participated in the revolution as a true Massachusetts patriot.

Paul understood there was true strength in numbers and that a strong will and strong ideas would win in the end. They were the original party of NO.  No to taxation without representation.

His fight was not against General Thomas Gage or the soldiers of Great Britain but of the policies of a bullying mother country.  He and his fellow patriots were always underestimated.  In the end Gage was surrounded and the war would begin.

The party of NO proposed a resolution at the Second Continental Congress the following month and George Washington would become the next great patriot.
