An Open Letter to the Press
Where is the outrage?
Four Americans died on the 11th anniversary of 9-11. A patriot and hero Ty Woods defied orders and ran toward the danger to save the lives of his fellow soldiers. Ty believed in America that day and I am sure he was confident help was on the way because no man is ever left behind.
America died that day with Ty’s last breath, at least the America that I knew.
There are so many unanswered questions that investigative reporters and journalists should be jamming the White House phone lines for answers but instead a pin drops. I ask you, if this was a Republican President and Administration would you be asleep at the wheel? I ask you, if you worked in a building that was previously attacked and in a known dangerous zone would you be mildly concerned about inadequate security and being left to die, maybe even as those in charge watched?
The slight sound of that pin is the few that have kept the story alive in honor of the fallen four and their grieving families.
If our President chose to go to sleep that night and then travel to a fundraiser to Las Vegas the next day without immediately starting his” ongoing investigation” then the citizens must know the truth before this important election. For if he would have stood up and admitted any error of judgment, miscommunication or incompetence, his re-election would have been sealed. Instead, he and his staff chose to claim an Anti-Muslim video, with less than 20 views, was to blame.
And we are outraged in the privacy of our homes. It’s been 45 days and even our own state senators, Brown and Kerry, former military men, have also remained silent.
It’s disgraceful that the media are mere bystanders.
I am extremely sad to say I no longer recognize my country.
Of Binders,Big Bird, Benghazi and Behar
On 9-11-12, America lost four courageous patriots who were willing to go to a place deemed dangerous by our government. An incident we found that may have been prevented had security recommendations been approved or maybe if they hadn’t been there in the first place, after all there had been 200 past incidents including the attempt to murder the British ambassador.
Another mistep in this administartion’s foreign policy or should I say philosophy, but all we hear is that Big Bird is going to be banned and women are offended at binders. Or we debate what President Obama said in the Rose Garden on 9-12-12. If you listen to the transcript it is convenient to say that he used the word “terror” but not in context of the disastrous event in Libya. If he did mean to say it was about Benghazi then why would Behar question him days later on The View.
It amounts to me to be another B……usually followed by an S.
We should be talking about if there is a war on terror and if our President believes that radical Islamists want to kill us or if America is the enemy.
On Your Watch
On September 11, 2012, yet another terrorist attack occurred where 4 Americans were murdered. Uprisings against America are in full swing in the Middle East and here in the U.S. we are pulling the blanket over our heads hoping that the bogeyman will go away. But HOPE is not a foreign policy and not a strategy, it’s just another progressive dream. It’s why Mr. President you probably will have another 4 years despite my own HOPE.
For on your watch, we have taken a back seat in the economic world and in the eyes of other countries around the globe.
On your watch, terrorists are killed by drones instead of interrogated and imprisoned. The number of American soldiers killed in your overseas contingency is hidden and the feelings of radical Islamic extremists are more important than protecting our freedoms.
On your watch, our credit rating has been downgraded and the printing of money has become an art form. We have fallen down the chart to on economic competitiveness.
On your watch, more Americans are unemployed, in poverty and in debt. Rising food and gas costs have added a burden to struggling families. It’s no wonder the misery index has risen 53% and in 18 states, according to the Census Bureau, they have seen their incomes drop.
On your watch, 45% more American are on food stamps while housing values decline 13%. Health insurance costs rise 23%.
(All statistics taken from the Senate Republican Committee)
Candidate Gov Romney, despite battling many negative fronts, you must defeat an incumbent that has failed as our leader, you must turn the direction of this country to a better place. After all, we all can’t fit in Galt’s Gulch.
This is the most important eelction of our time, it’s been said many times. It’s a decision about America, an election of ideas and a sincere belief of what America stands for.
We are truly a divided country not because we don’t care about our fellow man but because we are blinded by false images and an overstimulated media overload to the point where most people are left disinterested and distrustful of those who want to lead us.
Mr. Romney, it’s a new watch we are longing for. Americans deserve better.
The Stakes are High Tomorrow
Tomorrow’s recall election is as important as the general election in November. The Wisconsin battle will be a choice between taxpayers who are held hostage by public unions that have been the most powerful interest groups in the nation. If Walker is recalled then the union will have strengthened their hand and will jeopardize the gains that Wisconsin has already made, an increase in jobs and lower property taxes which helps all the people, not just those that are in public unions. As goes Wisconsin, so goes the rest of America.
Syria: The real War on Women and Muslims : 6,000 and counting…..
The recent killing in Housla of 108 innocent women and children by the Assad regime is shameful. The cold blooded slaughter of civilians for the sake of retaining power has paralyzed the West into silence. The many observers are committed to UN peace negotiations and limited economic sanctions but not on more active confrontation. It’s not that I am stating that a war weary U.S. should immediately leap in alone and confront an enemy we hardly know but where is the world’s collective strength? More importantly where are those that are loudly proclaiming a war on women or on Muslims? Once again as I have said it many posts…Where is the Code Pink peace flotilla? And since when is “hope” a strategy for combating mass killings? It is eerily reminiscent of a time when the world turned a blind eye in the 1940′s. In 1999, Pres.Bill Clinton intervened under pressure to stop the genocide in the former Yugoslavia, after an estimated 200,000 were killed.
With great power comes great responsibility, America must take a stronger stand, even thought it may be to confront Iran, the sponsor of Syrian’s brutality.
After all, shouldn’t we all be Syrians now?
Obama and Biden sitting in a tree……….
When VP Biden went out on the tree limb on Meet The Press he stated “he was comfortable with gay marriage” many of us were not surprised. The next pandering after women and blacks are the gays. Stay tune I am sure we have an immigration story to tell before Election Day.
I live in Massachusetts and am married but I don’t need the kindly tap on the head to feel comfort and support for my relationship. Nor do I believe in the judicial activism that permits me to have a piece of paper that states I am legal. So I don’t feel the need to dance around the dining room table now that the first President in history said he believes gay people should be able to marry. I am glad that Dick Cheney in 2009 articulated, in a sincere way, his personal feelings about gay marriage, after all he has direct experience with the issue. The President never states in his continual campaign speeches any respect for those that oppose his view, including yesterday’s statement on ABC for gay marriage. Wouldn’t it be great to recognize that we respect other people’s views on this difficult issue. at least we know where Romney stands(for now).
While the gay mafia decided marriage would be a great money magnet it wound up to be the biggest backfire. Thirty states, including NC recent vote, now ban gay marriage and even civil unions. Imagine the North Carolina LGBT community today wondering why the President was still “evolving” the day before.
Wouldn’t it be more productive for us to persuade our communities and therefore our representatives to recognize our commitments? Exactly what happened with GOP support in NY state. Even if we pushed for civil unions instead of calling it “marriage” would have been at least easier to swallow for some. What part of “shoving it down your throat” do we not understand? Can anyone say “health care mandate?” But of course, leaving that to the states is not what President Obama affirms.
So while those in my community celebrate the personal feelings of the President (as if it was an Executive Order), I hope VP Biden can now “get comfortable” about affirming his support for the innocent people of Syria and maybe then “get comfortable” around a balanced budget.
Tolerance for Thee but not for Me
My spouse and I entered into the Fluke/Limbaugh fray on FaceBook this weekend with our mutual liberal friends. By the time the weekend was over it was clear to us that as a minority in our small quaint gay enclave we should be silenced unless we agree with the Utopian worldview and “perfected” progressive society. But just like our inspiration Andrew Breitbart we remain fearless and calm in the storm of liberal intolerance and hatred. Even as we attempted to “agree to disagree” we are told “that’s a waste of time” and then the ultimate hypocritical line: ”death to all bigots, homophobes, racists and people who think that they are better than everyone else.” This from the same person that calls Sarah Palin an idiot after ignoring Sandra Berhnard’s rant that “she(Palin) should be gangraped by black brothers” Hmmm, so that makes it okay?
And if you are gay and Republican you must be similar to a “Jewish Nazi?” Because the Republican party wants to” put you back in the closet and chase you out of the public square”. It seems only the people that you disagree with should be banned from your liberal wide circle and subjugated to the basement. And leftist lies continued as his friends posted all the Democrat talking points with a poster that says:
Vote Republican 2012 (if you believe)
” Corporations are people” Yes, they are comprised of millions of people who pay their mortgages and gas bills and put their pants on one leg at a time.
“Women who use birth control are sluts” No, women who want me to pay for their birth control are nuts. Rush apologized, move on as your favorite site says!
“College students are snobs” No, Santorum said that he agreed with the President that people should be given choices not ONLY college.
“Gay Americans are an abomination” I don’t know who you are referring to but it’s called freedom of speech, even Sen Byrd (D) and former Ku Klux Klan member can become a member of Congress and be hateful.
“Poor people deserve to be poor” No, Republicans believe in individual responsibility and less government not dependency on”cradle to grave” entitlements. That keeps the poor more poor and keeps them voting Democrat….and how’s that Utopian experiment been working out in the last 40 years?
“Union workers are socialist thugs” I don’t know, hmmm let’s ask Kenneth Gladney, assaulted by SEIU 2 years ago. Or let’s ask all the states and municpalities that have voted to cut back the “spread the weatlth” philosophy of the public unions? More money for unions then less money for all the other concerns you talk about right? more money for education and the arts!
“The Unemployed are lazy parasites” Yes Republicans believe in jobs and economic growth which helps pay for the “stuff” above.Fact is the more you are unemployed the more you stay unemployed and see the same reason why you continue voting Democrat.
“Latinos are illegal until proven otherwise” No, illegals have committed a criminal act when they crossed the border. All Republicans have laid out their philosophy about legal immigration, none of it generalizes Latinos(your words). All offer a path to citzenship including George Bush, a “R”.
“The Bible trumps the Consitution” Since when are liberals for the Constitution? Republican believe in freedom OF religion not freedom FROM religion. See a document called “ Declaration of Independence”,
“Global warming is a hoax.” Maybe you didn’t get the memo, Climategate is over, proven to be a conjured up for Al Gore’s second career.
“US Auto industry should go bankrupt” See above, maybe you didn’t get the memo, they did declare bankruptcy under a “Democrat”— President Obama. Republicans just didnt think you and I should waste money to pay for it when that was the predicatble outcome.
“The US President is a Muslim agent and was born in Kenya” Sorry, but a Democrat was the originator of the birther movement.
So yes libs we are not taking it anymore, we are going to fight back even if we lose a few so-called acquaintances!
There will always be bigots, racists, homophobes and elitists on both sides because we live in an imperfect world that can’t be forced to be ever-loving. Bashing and demonizing your opponents is a great Alinsky tactic but it never gets to the discussion of what you are offended by nor does it welcome open conversation and debate. We thank you for that because we would rather be accepted by descent and honest people that respect our views.
Frederick Douglass Today- Real Hope and Change
As we celebrate February as Black History Month, I specifically write today about my favorite patriot, Frederick Douglass. Born a slave in 1818, he learned to read and write in the shades of secrecy and immediately became an avid fan of John Adam’s antislavery petitions in 1831. Later he became an advisor to Pres. Lincoln even though he often grew impatient with the long road to freedom. Their admiration and warm friendship was a turning point in this country’s history. A most courageous man he originally sided with the abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison but then found his own voice and became an independent voice in the anti-slavery movement. Instead of adapting an anti-America tune, he instead had faith that America, through the Founder’s own words and dedication to the principles in the Declaration of Independence. would find their way, slowly but surely, real hope and change. Surely today he would be demonized for taking this view. After all it was his duty as a black man to rail against the injustices and the Constitution. Instead he believed in his heart that America would overcome it’s prejudices and intolerance. Eventually, Douglass would win the day when the Emancipation Proclamation was signed stating in his “Address to Twentieth Anniversary of Emancipation” in 1883 that Lincoln” was the one man to whom we are more indebted for a United Nation and for American liberty than to any other…the greatest statesman that ever presided over the destinies of this Republic”
Instead of encouraging despair and dependence he beckoned his people to seek the virtue of self reliance and individual responsibility. Today he would be at odds with the Jacksons, the Sharptons and the Rev. Wrights of the world and be repeating the elevating philosophy of self-improvement of Allen West, Herman Cain and Thomas Sowell.
2012 the Year of the Dragon
This year we will select a candidate to represent our utter distaste at where America is headed. In 2010 we had a revved up base of supporters that understood the conservative message and propelled GOP candidates to demote former Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Will we support a candidate that is not 100% aligned with our views?
We need one that is 100% up to the task because if this week is any indication of what we will be up against, we need a dragon, a fire dragon. One that can take the fight, survive the hits, remain calm and speak from the heart. One with courage and inner strength that can stand up to the liberal media’s racism mash. We have a dragon in the Oval office now-as the Chinese Zodiac tells, a dragon is dominant and ambitious.
Pres.Obama has been successful at winning , giving speeches and effectively dividing our country. Will we rally behind one candidate or stay home with utter disgust at those that remain standing? As it has been said by many, this will be the most important election in our lifetimes. We must garner the strength from the 2010 elections and keep the fires burning or the year of the dragon may turn into the year of America’s demise.
